Some details:

  1. The owner, Dean, will support you in scheduling teaching hours that fit your schedule.
  2. Teachers are considered employees and are paid an hourly rate per lesson hour taught.  For instance: if you teach a 60 minute lesson you’ll be paid your hourly rate; if you teach a 30 minute lesson you’ll be paid your hourly rate divided by 2; if you have a stretch of time during which no lessons are scheduled you will not be paid for that empty time and you may do as you wish with that time.
  3. You will be expected to keep your schedule accurate in our online software for each day that you teach. Booking duties for students’ lessons will be shared by you and administrative staff.  You will be in charge of cancelling / rescheduling students for any vacation time that you take or changes you need to make to your schedule.
  4. Teachers are expected to support and participate in studio-wide performance events such as recitals and special events.

Some loftier stuff:

  1. We value learning above technical mastery.  The kind of teachers who are going to thrive here are the ones who are honest about still having plenty to learn and are excited about working hard to build on their existing skill set.
  2. We value the growth of each student no matter their starting or ending point musically.  We’re looking for teachers who want to develop deep relationships with their students and who are more focused on the student’s individual needs than they are on any specific technical or musical outcomes.
