I started Southtown Guitar in 2011 in the neighborhood of Southtown in Grand Rapids. In 2016 I moved the shop to the neighborhood of Eastown and ever since then I knew I wanted to choose a new name for the business at some point. That time has come and I’m looking for help in generating ideas for potential new names.
A great new name for Southtown Guitar will hit these criteria:
- Communicate that our core expertise is in teaching guitar.
- Allow room for future growth into selling and repairing guitars (this makes terms like ‘school’ – e.g. Grand Rapids’ Guitar School – and ‘academy’ not quite right).
I have a goal of compiling a list of 100 possible new names and I need more ideas! If you have a good, bad, great, silly or profound possible new name please let me know about it below.
